In the early 20th century "tent shows" created multiple stages of interest vying simultaneously for attention. They could be selling you medicine, salvation, entertainment or war. Tri-Cornered Tent Show is a band that began in Richmond California in the mid nineteen seventies by drummer Phillip Everett, bassist Ray Schaeffer, and keyboardist David Toby. Other artists that appear on the band's recordings include Rent Romus, CJ Borosque, Andre Custodio, Dina Emerson, Jesse Quattro, Bob Marsh, Sandor Finta, and Anthony Flores. While Drawing on combined influences in R&B/dance, classical, multi cultural folk, progressive rock, 20th century avant garde, free jazz and heavy metal, the group collective experiments with melodic and arrhythmic improvisation. The bands' recordings reference H.P. Lovecraft a writer from the early part of the twentieth century including the short story The Music of Erich Zann as well as the Fungi of Yuggoth.
